University of Michigan Flint adds social worker to public safety department

Police departments across Michigan and the nation are grappling with an increase in mental health crisis calls, with 63% of senior law enforcement officials reporting a rise over their careers.

In response, the University of Michigan Flint's Department of Public Safety has introduced a co-responder social worker to address these challenges.
