The Union Public Service Commission conducts the CAPF examination once every year for the recruitment to the posts of the Assistant Commandants (AC) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) viz. Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force(CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The written exam consists of two Papers – Paper I (General Ability and Intelligence) and Paper II (General Studies, Essay and Comprehension). The total marks for the General Studies, Essay and Comprehension (GSEC) Paper is 200 marks and the total duration is 3 hours. There is no negative marking for Paper II of CAPF (AC) written examination.
