Born out of the desire to create and share, we are excited to announce STUB: a global creative talent exchange within one design-orientated project. It is a collaboration that is conceptualised by Ubuntu Design, renowned artist SIT and sustainable denim brand Kuyichi.
Ubuntu Design is part of The Ubuntu Academy Cape town. Ubuntu developed an unconventional talent program to educate underprivileged youngsters in Performing Arts and Design, entrepreneurship and leadership. This program offers them social and economic opportunities by creating real value, which in turn has a major impact on them and their communities. To develop their skills even further, Ubuntu Design launched STUB.
STUB intents to stimulate worldwide design collaborations and offer new creative business opportunities. Yet, although the intentions of this creative adventure are clear, the outcome is still unknown. Hence the name STUB, which is a metaphor for the beginning of a movement, or 'finding identity within'.
