Launching Scotland’s First Social Work Graduate Apprenticeship | UWS

Описание: We are proud to launch Scotland’s first Social Work Graduate Apprenticeship at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS).

To mark this historic milestone, we welcomed Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs, Angela Constance, to our Paisley campus. This groundbreaking BA (Hons) programme offers students a flexible route to qualify as registered Social Workers while remaining in paid employment - a crucial step in addressing the 9.3% vacancy rate across Scottish local authority social work services.

During the visit, Ms. Constance and National Chief Social Work Adviser, Joanna Macdonald, met with our first cohort of students from five employers, including four local authorities and the charity, Kibble.

This programme is supported by Skills Development Scotland, the Scottish Government, the Scottish Social Services Council, and a dedicated Industry Advisory Group.
