1983 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 Full Frame-off Restoration Project

Among the busy highways and riverside parkways in upstate New York, this FJ40 rides again. A hardtop with a vintage vibe, it’s sure to turn a few heads in our client's hometown of Westchester.

Classic Lines, New Hardware
When it comes to legends, not many compare to the FJ40 with its hard-core steel body, iconic grille, rugged hooks and exposed hinges and bolts. During our full, frame-off restoration process, we reclaimed this ride's innate FJ-ness and equipped it with a few rugged parts and accessories. LED exterior lighting illuminates the road ahead, while the Warn ZEON 8 winch, custom-painted jerry-can and heavy duty tires remind you that the FJ40 was made to go anywhere.

Fun in the Fast Lane
Do classic Land Cruisers do highways? Let's put it this way: When you've got a Toyota 1FZ with 210 horses under the hood, a smooth shifting 5-speed manual, and upgraded suspension like this one does, your answer could be "yeah" or it could be a "hell yeah!" We prefer the latter. But, there's more! All of the 4-wheel drive components on this FJ40 have been completely restored — after all, the Land Cruiser is an off-road legend, and we'd like to keep it that way.
