'Rituals' was commissioned for the opening concert of the 2018 Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival in South Korea. Composed for euphonium soloist Steven Mead, the piece is a virtuosic and lyrical dialogue between native Jeju Island folk music and a traditional Welsh hymn tune; a musical representation of both Tom's Welsh heritage and the proud folk traditions that fuel the creative culture of Jeju Island.
