On February 25th, a crucial meeting of the National Council-JCM's drafting committee regarding the Eighth Pay Commission was held, attended by staff leaders, and discussions were held to finalize a joint memorandum to be submitted to the government. The meeting discussed several key employee-related issues in detail, as the upcoming Pay Commission will determine the direction of central employees' salaries, allowances, and pensions for the next several years. Shiv Gopal Mishra, general secretary of the major railway employees' union, AIRF, and a prominent staff leader, told the media that the meeting focused on the fitment factor, minimum wage, number of pay units, allowances, and the new pay structure. He also stated that approximately 18 key issues related to the Eighth Pay Commission were discussed to ensure a strong presentation of employees' demands. Although a final consensus could not be reached on all issues during the nearly two-hour meeting, it was decided to continue the discussion at the next meeting on March 10th, and only then will the final draft be prepared.

आठवें वेतन आयोग को लेकर 25 फरवरी को National Council-JCM की ड्राफ्टिंग कमेटी की एक अहम बैठक हुई, जिसमें स्टाफ साइड के नेताओं ने हिस्सा लिया और सरकार को सौंपे जाने वाले संयुक्त ज्ञापन को अंतिम रूप देने पर चर्चा की। इस बैठक में कर्मचारियों से जुड़े कई महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दों पर विस्तार से विचार किया गया, क्योंकि आने वाला वेतन आयोग अगले कई सालों तक केंद्रीय कर्मचारियों की सैलरी, भत्तों और पेंशन की दिशा तय करेगा। रेलवे कर्मचारियों की बड़ी यूनियन AIRF के महासचिव और स्टाफ साइड के प्रमुख नेता Shiv Gopal Mishra ने मीडिया से बातचीत में बताया कि मीटिंग में फिटमेंट फैक्टर कितना रखा जाए, न्यूनतम वेतन कितना हो, वेतन यूनिट की संख्या क्या हो, कौन-कौन से भत्ते जोड़े जाएं और नया वेतन ढांचा कैसा बने—इन सभी बिंदुओं पर गंभीर चर्चा हुई। उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि आठवें वेतन आयोग से जुड़े करीब 18 अहम सवालों पर विचार-विमर्श किया गया है, ताकि कर्मचारियों की मांगों को मजबूत तरीके से रखा जा सके। हालांकि लगभग दो घंटे चली बैठक में सभी मुद्दों पर अंतिम सहमति नहीं बन सकी, इसलिए तय किया गया कि 10 मार्च के बाद होने वाली अगली बैठक में चर्चा जारी रहेगी और उसके बाद ही अंतिम मसौदा तैयार होगा।
