How to Crochet the Endless Blanket Rectangle

For this tutorial I am using my Prym Clover Amour 6.5 mm (K) crochet hook and Yarnspirations, Caron Jumbo Ombre yarn. This is a 100% Acrylic, Medium Weight Yarn. For my project I’m using the color Salmon.

My written pattern includes instructions to make this project in 8 popular sizes but you can make your project to any size, simply by changing the starting chain you make and working more or fewer rounds of the project. The edging works for any size blanket you decide to make.

There are 3 different corners used for this blanket. Two of the corners are used during the main blanket pattern (Corner A and B) and we alternate these every round.

The other corner is only used for the final edging round (Corner C).

All other stitches after Round 1 will be worked into the ch2sp. This means we skip every stitch except the ch2sp for this blanket (which makes it very easy to crochet!).

To begin, decide which size blanket you want to make, or create your own size by chaining a multiple of 2 chains.

Sample Rectangular Afghan width approximately 30 inches X 40 inches length - chain 28 - work 38 rounds - 2 balls of *yarn
Rectangle Lapghan width approximately 48 X 36 inches length - chain 36 - work 44 rounds - 2 balls of *yarn
Small Afghan width approximately 60 X 40 inches length - chain 54 - work 50 rounds - 3 balls of *yarn
Medium Afghan width approximately 60 X 48 inches length - chain 34 - work 60 rounds - 4 balls of *yarn
Large Afghan width approximately 64 X 50 inches length - chain 40 - work 62 rounds - 4 balls of *yarn
Large Throw width approximately 50 X 38 inches length - chain 38 - work 46 rounds - 3 balls of *yarn
Small Throw width approximately 34 X 28 inches length - chain 22 - work 34 rounds - 1 ball of *yarn
Toddler Throw width approximately 48 X 42 inches length - chain 22 - work 52 rounds - 3 balls of *yarn

Gauge used for the pattern: Approximately 5 sets of (1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc) per 4 inches (10 cm) and 4 rows per 1.5 inches (4 cm)

Supplies used for the project:
*Yarn: Yarnspirations. Caron Jumbo Ombre. 12 oz (340 g) and 595 yds (544 m). 100% Acrylic. Medium-Weight Yarn [4]. Machine wash and dry.
Colors: 2 skeins Salmon (19002-296619)
Hook: 6.5 mm (K) Clover Amour
4 Stitch Markers

Corner A:
(1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc) in the next ch2sp

Corner B:
(1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc) in the next ch2sp, ch 2, (1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc) in the next ch2sp

Corner C:
(1 sc, p, 1 sc) in the next ch2sp, corner p, (1 sc, p, 1 sc) in the next ch2sp.

Corner Picot:
Ch 3, sl st to the third ch from the hook

Picot:
Ch 2, sl st to the second ch from the hook

Notes:
The project needs to be turned every round in order to keep the stitches lined up. 
Make the slip stitch to join tightly and your turning chain small.
After Rnd 1 we only work into the ch2sp; sk all other stitches.
The sl st to join is made into the first sc of the round and does not count as a stitch.
