Burgmuller Op.100 No.19 - Ave Maria - (One Piece per Week Challenge)

Описание: One of my 2019 new year resolutions was to learn and record one easy piece every week. I am starting with Burgmuller Op.100, 25 progressive studies. This is the nineteenth piece of the set.

I think this piece is deceptively difficult. The fact that it is slow and gentle makes every mistake and/or unperfect touch stand out. It has some chorale characteristics, and balancing the dynamics and articulations for the different voices is a real challenge. I abused the use of the sustain pedal, took some liberties regarding tempo and wasn't able to follow precisely the notated articulations. Nevertheless, I`ve put a lot of effort into performing a decent interpretation, although I had only one week to learn and prepare this piece. I think the end result is ok.

The recording was made using a pair of condenser microphones, AKG P170, placed above the top lid of my upright piano, a Kawai K200. No added effects or audio processing was done.
