LANIAKEA for orchestra (Official Video) - What does reality's blueprint sound like? | Petar Dimov

Описание: Nearly two years ago thirty-three musicians from multiple countries tackled that question and recorded Petar Dimov’s orchestral composition Laniakea from their homes and the goodness of their hearts in the midst of lockdown. Joining forces with visual artist Denise Deák, a video that captures the inner workings of the piece was created.

Laniakea shares its name with the supercluster of galaxies our Milky Way belongs to. Its musical material was derived from a recurring pattern of 60 digits recently discovered within the last digit of every number constituting the infinitely expanding Fibonacci sequence, making it pre-existent - composed by the universe itself. This pattern of cyclical infinity further explains why we measure time in units of 60, have nearly 360 days in a year, perceive reality in 360 degrees, etc. When translated to music, this pattern reveals 4 phrases with a palindromic structure, which Laniakea utilises on a micro and macro level.
