Meet Vanessa, age 45, from San Jose, California. When she was first diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer (MBC), she couldn’t wrap her head around the news. Though initially worried more about her loved ones, Vanessa has accepted her diagnosis and is determined to advocate for herself and others within the LGBTQ+ and MBC communities. Vanessa hopes that by sharing her story, she can spread awareness about the long-term effects of MBC and keep advocating for the MBC community.
