Skyrim Inspired Frost Dragon: Costume Mode

Описание: The several year long process of creating our mechanical Skyrim Frost Dragon inspired costume/puppet/prop.

This video focuses on our dragon in costume mode, with pictures and videos of the build process and lots of footage of him in action in our yard haunt, The Haunting of Storybook Hollow!

Having never built anything remotely like him before, this project has been a culmination of much trial and error, literal blood, sweat, and tears, more do-overs than I can count, and sheer determination. We thought he was finished so many times, but when we’d put him to use, something would go disastrously wrong, and we’d be back to the drawing board again. We just kept plugging along, learning from our mistakes as we went, and now we finally have him stable and functioning! Our dragon's name is Frosty, and he's basically part of the family now.

Frosty functions as a prop, a puppet, and a costume. When being used as a puppet or costume, his neck, head, and mouth are operated by pulleys from inside his belly. His feet are attached with rods to a pair of boots worn by the actor, so he walks when the actor walks. He has a relatively inconspicuous 4-part stand system that supports him when used as a prop.

Frosty was definitely a labor of love to build and we hope you like him!
