President Johnson's address to the nation 31 March 1968

Описание: On 31 March 1968, President Lyndon Johnson addressed the people of the United States at 9 pm (Eastern Time). The speech lasted 40 minutes and concentrated on the war in Vietnam, announcing a pause in bombing North Vietnam north of 20º and urging peace talks. Unexpectedly, and only at the very end of the speech, Johnson suddenly announced he would not seek re-election in the election of that year.
