Hi, I'm Danny with etrailer and today we're gonna take a look at, I'm gonna show you how to install the EcoHitch front-mount hidden trailer hitch on our 2020 Ram 2500. This hitch has a minor footprint on the front of your vehicle. It sits pretty well behind your front fascia and it has hidden cross tubes so that's all behind this plastic piece. So all you really see is this hitch receiver. And another nice thing is it does have a matte powder coat finish that matches a lot of the aspects of your vehicle and it's gonna definitely stand the test of time with that paint job. So this front-mount hitch has a two inch by two inch hitch receiver and will accommodate most of your accessories.

Now you will need a 5/8 inch pin and clip. What's nice about this kit is it does come with one, I would recommend getting a locking one just so you have that peace of mind when you're parked, no one can take your accessory. Gonna be using this for two e-bikes for when he is doing his adventures because he has a big in-bed camper, so he's trying to maximize as much space on his vehicle as possible when he is out doing his camping. Now I'll get you a couple measurements you may need to know. So from the ground to the top of our hitch receiver opening, that will be 17 inches.

So that's gonna be important to know if you have a bike rack or accessory that has a drop or a rise, you wanna make sure that you have enough ground clearance. Now your next measurement is from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outside of the bumper, which that's gonna be about 4 1/2. So that's important to know if you have any folding accessories. So if you're not having your bikes and you're wanting to take your vehicle out, you can fold that up and it's less of a profile on the front of your vehicle. Getting into the install it is fairly simple.

You are having to take some fascia pieces off and there is trimming involved, but there is no drilling. It's all a bolt-on application. You could probably do it in an afternoon, but if you don't have the tools or time to do it yourself, feel free to check out our dealer locator and we can find a professional in your area to do it for you. But without further ado, let's get into the installation. We're gonna go ahead and remove this bottom fascia piece.

You're gonna wanna get your trim panel tool and there's gonna be these two pushpin fasteners and you're gonna wanna apply some pressure to get these removed. Once I get that pushed out, I'm gonna get the rest of the screwdriver here. Do this on both sides. So now I'm on the driver's side on the underneath here and there's gonna be 10 millimeter bolts securing this plastic piece on, so I'm gonna go and remove those. (wrench chattering) And there is four on this side and there's gonna be four on the other side and we're gonna remove all those. So once you get those removed, you're gonna wanna come out here to these big openings and there's gonna be four more right up here. So you can get to those by just getting your tool in there, lining it up and taking them out. (wrench chattering) And with all those removed you can remove this whole piece now. There's gonna be tabs on either side that are going to hold this in place still and these are a little tricky to get out, but you kind of just have to get your tool in there and push down on both sides here and that should release the tab. Now I'm gonna do this on the other side. So in addition to those four on either side, there is actually one up closer in, it's about there on both sides. So you're gonna also wanna remove this one as well. So in addition to those four we took out on either side, there is gonna be one about here on both sides that you're gonna wanna take out. I can't get my tool up in here just 'cause of things in the way, so I'm gonna get my 10 millimeter socket and get these off as well. And once you get both of these clips removed, you can pull this off and set it to the side. So now up under the vehicle we're gonna remove this rubber piece and we're gonna get these three pushpin fasteners removed. And now there's gonna be two 10 millimeter bolts on either side we're gonna have to remove. And the first one's gonna be here and there's gonna be an upper one, but I'm gonna start with this one. So this next one is up behind the fascia here. It's a little
