St Francis (SAFRACCOL) Launches Golden Jubilee

Greetings, cherished viewers, and welcome to St. Francis Comprehensive College Shisong. Every archive is filled with great historical events. Today, December 20th, 2024, marks the beginning of a year-long journey as we launch the Golden Jubilee Year of the college. This period will entail visiting history with gratitude, living the present moments with joy, and looking to the future with hope and expectations.
Saint Francis Comprehensive College (SAFRACCOL) Shisong was founded in 1975 by the Tertiary Sisters of St. Francis as Girls Vocational School (GBV) to give hope to the girl child through education. Over the years, the school has undergone significant growth and transformation. From its humble beginnings as a girls' vocational school, focusing on home management, child care, tailoring, and embroidery skills, to its current status which started in 2011 as a comprehensive college, offering holistic education to all students both boys and girls of all backgrounds offering both commercial and general education.

The day's celebrations began with a solemn Holy Mass, celebrated by Bishop George Nkou, Bishop of Kumbo Diocese, Cameroon.

In his homily, the bishop reiterated the words of Bishop Peter Rogan, emphasizing the purpose and mission of the Tertiary Sisters in the then English-speaking Diocese of Cameroon.

During the Mass, 36 students received the sacrament of confirmation.

At the end of the Holy Mass, the Principal gave a beautiful speech calling the students not only to count past Glory but to take to action and lay a foundation stone towards the realization of the Jubilee project,

The second part of the celebration focused on fundraising for the Jubilee project, which aims to build a fence around the school for maximum security.
