BC Building Code proposals for cleaner, more energy efficient Part 9 buildings (2022)

CORRECTION: At 5:32, the video erroneously shows the 2018 Revision 2 BC Building Code tables, not the proposed tables as intended. The correct tables may be viewed in the Proposed Change Forms (PCFs) listed at the link below.

These proposals were signed into regulation and released on May 1, 2023 as updates to the BC Energy Step Code and a new Zero Carbon Step Code. The Province made minor changes to the final building code language as a result of public input. However, the videos still contain current, relevant information and remain as an educational resource.
