Russian President Vladimir Putin responded to U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to join a “Board of Peace,” saying Moscow is studying the invitation and consulting with its strategic partners. Putin said Russia could consider contributing up to one billion dollars from Russian assets frozen under a previous U.S. administration to support peace efforts, while noting that a final decision on participation would be taken after due consultations.

The US Coast Guard, in a joint operation with UK forces, has seized the Marinara (formerly Bella One), a Russian-flagged oil tanker part of an estimated 500-vessel shadow fleet transporting sanctioned oil for Iran and Russia. The vessel repeatedly changed its name and flag registration to evade interdiction, sailing under Ghanaian and Russian flags whilst operating in international waters.

Seven countries, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt say they will join US president Donald Trump's Board of Peace, according to a joint statement. They will join Israel, which also publicly confirmed its participation earlier.


However Saudi Arabia said that the group of Muslim-majority countries - Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan and Qatar - endorsed the aim of consolidating a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, supporting reconstruction and advancing what they described as a "just and lasting peace".
