Описание: American Top Team Wrestling Coach Steve Mocco of Mocco Wrestling Academy in (South Florida) Coconut Creek came out of retirement to compete on the Real American Freestyle Wrestling show, RAF 05, on Fox Nation from Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026 in Sunrise Florida Government.
Mocco, 44, of Parkland wrestled Mostafa Elders, a 24-year-old from Egypt. Edlers won 6-1, but the hometown crowd was chanting, supporting him, and he held his own. Mocco wrestled for the United States at the 2008 Olympics.
Really cool was the fact that coaching him -- in his corner -- were his two sons, Michael and Peter, two teenage wrestling standouts, who attend/wrestle for Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale. Shoe on other foot. The boys did a good job in this role reversal.
RAF is s the first unscripted pro wrestling league for the best athletes in the world, primarily those with freestyle wrestling backgrounds.
Competitors include current and former collegiate wrestlers, Olympic wrestlers and mixed martial artists. The promotion provides an opportunity for wrestlers to profit from their craft, as historically both collegiate and Olympic wrestling do not allow compensation. A partnership with USA Wrestling allows current NCAA wrestlers to participate, receiving compensation through NIL sponsorships.
Debuting in 2025, RAF acquired the support of, the push from Eric Bischoff and the late, great Hulk Hogan (two legends known for their game-changing efforts in the results pre-determined world of professional wrestling). They worked with Chad Bronstein and Isreal "Izzy" Martinez, the creators of this RAF concept.
Their goal with RAF: To create a legitimate, professional wrestling league (unscripted) that elevates top amateur freestyle wrestlers into mainstream stars by highlighting their real stories, personalities and elite athleticism, while aiming to capture an underserved market with authentic, character-driven entertainment similar to the UFC model but with a unique wrestling focus. They want to provide better opportunities for wrestlers, showcase dedication and build mega-stars by blending real-life narratives with professional wrestling style production.
