This video gives the basic moments of the sword for the 8 cut drill that follows. It is designed to give the student a basic background in X cut mechanics. This is a last development of the X cut, this time made on the inside and outside of the buckler position, using both Oberhau and Unterhau cuts in two X patterns. This normally would be done initially stationary and later with stepping. The sword in this drill passes through several of the wards or guard positions shown in the manuscript.
