If today the future of humanity is questioned by the environmental crisis and the winds of a nuclear war, there is a man who since years is warning us that the end of the world is near, asking us to repent of our sins.
Will "The Preacher" be able to accomplish his mission, saving us from the upcoming Apocalypse?

Se oggi il futuro dell’umanità è messo in dubbio dalla crisi ambientale e da venti di guerra nucleare, c’è un uomo che già da anni ci avvisava dell'imminente fine del mondo, chiedendoci di ravvederci dai nostri peccati.
Riuscirà “Il Predicatore” a portare a termine la sua missione, salvandoci dall’Apocalisse ormai imminente?

If today the future of humanity is questioned by the environmental crisis and the winds of a nuclear war, there is a man who since years is warning us that the end of the world is near, asking us to repent of our sins.
Every day Stefano Ansaldo, a forty-five year old of South American origins, transforms streets, squares and markets into improvised places of evangelical preaching: from the suburbs to the center of Naples, from the Ligurian seafront to Saint Peter in Rome, from Germany to Brazil. The videos are then uploaded to social networks: his Youtube channel "Only Jesus Saves", born in 2012, has now 8,500 videos and 60K followers.
They are not sweetened or reassuring sermons: Stefano walks among the market stalls holding a Bible in his hand, admonishing passers-by and sellers, inviting them to convert and repent, on pain of eternal damnation, because "the time of Judgment is about to come".
His voice, already firm and powerful, rises in tone and "cries out in the desert" in front of sinners or "false idols": churches, religious statues, money.
Stefano and his wife Cristiana live aboard a RV that has become their house, as well as a mean of transport and a tool for preaching. The documentary follows their daily life, between evangelical preaching and much more earthly needs. What emerges is the intimate portrait of a man who has dedicated his life to a single cause. He has a vocation, an all-encompassing passion that does not accept compromises and which led him to isolate himself from his own church, from his own "brothers". Eventually, we may find ourselves tempted to abandon skepticism and personal beliefs and side with, almost "root for" him.
Will "The Preacher" be able to accomplish his mission, saving us from the upcoming Apocalypse?

Se oggi il futuro dell’umanità è messo in dubbio dalla crisi ambientale e da venti di guerra nucleare, c’è un uomo che già da anni ci avvisava dell'imminente fine del mondo, chiedendoci di ravvederci dai nostri peccati.
Tutti i giorni Stefano Ansaldo, quarantacinquenne di origini sudamericane, trasforma vie, piazze e mercati in improvvisati luoghi di predicazione evangelica: dalla periferia di Secondigliano al centro di Napoli, dal lungomare ligure a Piazza San Pietro, dalla Germania a San Paolo del Brasile. I video, ripresi dalla moglie Cristiana con il telefono cellulare, sono poi caricati sui social network: il canale Youtube “Solo Cristo Salva”, nato nel 2012, raccoglie oggi 8.500 video e 60.000 followers.
Non sono prediche edulcorate o tranquillizzanti: Stefano cammina tra i banchi del mercato con in mano una Bibbia per ammonire passanti e venditori, invitandoli a convertirsi e ravvedersi, pena la dannazione eterna, perché “sta per venire il tempo del Giudizio”.
Stefano e Cristiana vivono a bordo di un camper che ne è diventato casa, oltre che mezzo di trasporto e strumento di predicazione.
Il documentario segue la loro vita quotidiana, tra predicazioni evangeliche e esigenze ben più terrene. Ne viene fuori il ritratto intimo di un uomo che ha dedicato la propria esistenza a un’unica causa. La sua è una vocazione, una passione totalizzante che non accetta compromessi e che lo ha portato a isolarsi dalla sua stessa chiesa, dai suoi stessi “fratelli”. Alla fine, potremmo ritrovarci tentati ad abbandonare lo scetticismo e le convinzioni personali e a parteggiare, quasi tifare, per lui.
Riuscirà “Il Predicatore” a portare a termine la sua missione, salvandoci dall’Apocalisse ormai imminente?
