Daylight saving time ends Sunday, marking shorter days and earlier sunsets for Tennessee

Описание: It is that time of the year again when we turn back the clocks an hour as Daylight Saving Time (DST) ends.

Sunday, Nov. 2, will see a sunrise of 6:11 a.m. and a sunset of 4:49 p.m. Daylight hours will continue to shrink until the first day of winter, Dec. 21.

Daylight Saving Time has been used in the United States since 1918. It was introduced to save energy.

Even though it was implemented in 1918, it was first mentioned back in the 1700s by Ben Franklin.

Roughly 40% of the world uses DST, with nearly 1 billion people having to spring forward and fall back every year.

There has been some pushback about whether or not Tennessee should continue to use DST as of 2025; only Arizona and Hawaii do not change their clocks twice a year.
