A major controversy has surfaced at Nuagaon Anganwadi Centre under Ghadiamala Panchayat in Rajnagar Block of Kendrapara district, Odisha.

After the appointment of a Scheduled Caste (SC) young woman as Anganwadi helper, parents reportedly stopped sending their children to the centre, triggering serious concerns.

Following media coverage, the Kendrapara district administration took swift action. The Sub-Collector, District Welfare Officer, Tahasildar, and CDPO visited the village to hold discussions with locals. Despite door-to-door outreach efforts, many parents did not attend the meeting at the Anganwadi centre.

Officials have verified the appointment documents of the selected candidate and have given villagers three days to resolve the issue. The administration hopes for a peaceful solution to ensure children’s education and welfare are not affected.
