XYNVEN - is a Polish spacesynth project presented in a modern form. It is inspired by the bands Koto and Laserdance. The creator of the project is Adrian Porwol. The Xynven and Opposite Direction projects are related.

SPACESYNTH - also known as synthdance and spacedance, is a modern term to describe various 1980s music styles of European electronic dance music, that emerge from a 70s Eurodisco music style, called Space Disco. Initially, it functioned within the Italo disco genre, imitating its characteristic features. Most tracks are completely instrumental and are focused on upbeat futuristic, science fiction and epic battle scene style themes with driving basslines and catchy synthesizer riffs. The genre began in the late 1970s as Space Disco and lasted until the early 1990s. Since the genre's decline it has gone underground, with new albums being published by a number of European independent record labels. Despite the similarity in names, spacesynth is not a continuation of the space disco music genre that was popular in the late 1970s, despite the elements that connect the two musical trends. The most famous representatives of the spacesynth genre are Koto and Laserdance. In the 1980s and 1990s, spacesynth music was released by record labels such as Memory Records, Beat Box (Italy), ZYX Music (Germany), Hotsound, Made Up Records, Rams Horn, Galaxis (Netherlands), and Snake's Music (Poland). In the first half of the 1990s, with the huge popularity of new genres such as house, techno, and eurodance, spacesynth disappeared from the music scene. The famous techno hit “James Brown Is Dead” was composed by Michiel van der Kuy under the name L.A. Style and the pseudonym Denzil Slemming. Meanwhile, spacesynth, almost forgotten, was reborn after 2000, mainly thanks to the Internet, as a niche genre of electronic music.

ITALODISCO – a marketing term introduced in 1983 by Bernhard Mikulski, founder of the ZYX Music record label. The term refers to Italian electronic disco music from the 1980s and music from other parts of Europe and North America that imitated it (although the term Euro disco is more commonly used for music from outside Italy). Before the term Italo disco was coined in 1983, artists of this genre were referred to as Spaghetti-Dance or their work was simply classified as disco music. Italo disco music derives mainly from disco, funk, and Euro disco. A typical Italo disco song has contrasting verses and choruses and a synthesizer backing track. At the end of the 1980s, the popularity of this genre began to decline dramatically, until it finally disappeared from the market in the mid-1990s. Since 2007, there has been a growing interest in Italo disco artists, which is reflected in the emergence of radio stations and websites promoting this music genre, Italo disco fan meetings, an increased number of concerts by artists of this genre, and an increasing number of venues playing this type of music. The Italo disco genre also influenced the emergence of house, dance, and techno music. In the early 1990s, the genre lost popularity to Eurodance music. The most famous representatives are bands and performers such as: Francesco Napoli, Savage, Ken Laszlo, P.Lion, Albert One, Radiorama, Valerie Dore, Sabrina.
