"First I am surprised that they know me because I can understand if there is an Indian who is travelling to Morocco and he sees me and I can understand, but when I see a Moroccan person I am surprised. But then, when I come to know that they see all our films here it makes sense. The first reaction is obviously one of surprise, but happy they are seeing our films and happy that they enjoy it and show their love and affection."
2. SOUNDBITE (English) Amitabh Bachchan/Actor - on the strangest place he's been recognized:
"Many years ago I was visiting France, Paris, I went to the Sacre Coeur and I heard somebody singing a song, which was my song from a film, and I was wondering where the sound was coming from and I looked around and there was a person who was singing it who was not Indian looking, he was... he didn't know the words, he didn't know Hindi but he was singing that song. And that I guess was one of the most surprising elements of knowing a fan - who didn't know the language but who knew the music. And he wasn't from Paris either."
3. SOUNDBITE (English) Amitabh Bachchan/Actor - on the nicest thing a fan has said to him:
"Oh gosh, they say all kinds of things. It's a little embarrassing to talk about it because they are overflowing with emotion and sentiment. In our country many fans, they actually cut themselves and with the blood they draw your portrait. So that's horrible, they shouldn't do that but this is their emotion and passion and they do it many times."
4. SOUNDBITE (English) Amitabh Bachchan/Actor - on why he thinks actors like himself get idolized:
"I think the medium of cinema is like that. We are all portrayed in film doing very big heroic things. We fight against injustice, we fight against the villain. We over power them even though we are lesser in strength, we perform certain acts in cinema which are larger than life so when they see an image of us in real-life they think they are seeing that same image and that is why I can explain perhaps they look at us in the way they do."

BACHCHAN'S BLOOD BOND WITH FANS
During a recent visit to Morocco, Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan explained that for some of his Indian fans, words just weren't enough to express how much they cared.
"It's a little embarrassing to talk about it because they are overflowing with emotion and sentiment," says the 70-year-old star.
