Our Sri Lanka adventure has come to an end, but what a final day it was! From checking out of our favorite city-center hub to witnessing one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world, here is how we spent our last 24 hours before heading to Chennai.

🏨 Checkout: Fairway Colombo
We started the day by checking out of the Fairway Colombo (Fairway Gateway). It’s been the perfect base in the Fort district—modern, high-tech, and super convenient. If you're looking for a hotel in Colombo with robot room service and great balcony views, this is the one!

🌊 Negombo Beach Sunset
Before heading to the airport, we made a stop in Negombo, the famous beach town just 15 minutes from the airport.

The Vibe: We spent the evening at Negombo Beach, watching a breathtaking golden sunset over the Indian Ocean. It’s the best way to say goodbye to the island.

Pro Tip: There are plenty of great seafood spots along the beach road for a final Sri Lankan feast before your flight!

✈️ Flight: Colombo (CMB) to Chennai (MAA)
Later that night, we headed to Bandaranaike International Airport for our early morning flight.

Airlines: We flew with SriLankan Airlines (Flight UL121). The check-in was smooth, and the flight duration to Chennai is only about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Arrival: We touched down at Chennai International Airport early the next morning, ready for the next chapter of our journey in South India!
