Partitio Chapter 4: Steam Tank Obsidian (蒸気装甲車オブシディアン)
Steam Tank Obsidian: 70kHP with 40 shields. Spear/Bow/Dark. Loses 10 shields when each part is destroyed. Gain 10 shields when any part is repaired.
Glacis Plate (前部装甲): 20kHP with 6 shields. Sword/Axe/Staff/Fire/Ice. Single-hit physicals only.
Smokestack (煙突): 22kHP with 5 shields. Spear/Dagger/Axe/Fire/Elec. Can poison or blind. Both are direct debuffs.
Cannon (大砲): 24kHP with 4 shields. Sword/Dagger/Bow/Ice/Elec. High damage single-hit physical. Takes 2 turns to reload.
The train body itself has an ejection move, just like the Steam Machine in Partitio's chapter 3. However, we can evade it because the move is physical-based. The train can also randomly repair dead parts. If no parts are dead, the train can buff all other parts (PDEF+EDEF or PATK+EATK) or simply attack. It's also guaranteed to revive all parts together, one time only, when its health drops to yellow or below.
When using the Scholar subclass, I use lightning magic because the two parts with the highest HP have lightning weakness. Without seeds at this level, using Alpiones at 1HP, Ochette barely has enough magic attack to one-shot them at 3BP. I actually used ice magic the first time out of habit, and the smokestack survived with red health.
With a bit of luck, we can down the boss in 2 turns using solo Ochette with no damage (using Alpiones). This is what we do:
Turn 0: Starting with 2BP, 2x Somersault + 1x Headless Horseman for PATK up. Speed-wise, ideally Ochette should be in first or second position so we don't burn our EVA stacks from the parts' attacks.
Turn 1: Fully-charged armsmaster spear attack. This should destroy all parts and refund 3BP.
Turn 2: The train will get 1 attack. We need to dodge it passively or from evasion stacks. Do a fully-charged armsmaster axe attack to finish the fight.
Note: If you want the game to actually acknowledge no damage, send Partitio in dead, but stack EVA on him and give him the accessory from the Old Clock Tower (120 eva + 3 turns of EVA up). This for when he revives at 1HP in mid-fight. With the evasion, he has a very good chance to be able to dodge the train's normal or steam AOE attack on turn 2. Strictly speaking, there's always a chance that the train will normal-attack Partitio instead of using the AOE, which voids the solo run.
Turn 1 takedown is possible but Ochette needs close to 999 PATK when using the spear. Since her accessories are locked to Alpione's and the one that gives PATK up on battle start, I had to throw every single ATK and EVA seed I have onto Ochette to make it work. Leveling to 99 won't help because Ochette's PATK growth between levels 80 and 99 is only 40, but this is the idea:
Turn 0: 2BP-charged armsmaster spear attack with pre-buffed PATK from accessory. This will blow up 3 parts and refund 3BP. Most importantly we need this half-assed attack to trigger the boss' yellow HP speech.
Turn 1: Ochette must move after the train because the speech will only trigger during the train's move, and Ochette (optionally Partitio) must passively dodge the train's attack. Do a fully-charged armsmaster axe attack on the train to take it out. If Ochette moves before the train does, no matter what we do, the train will survive with 1HP until Roque finishes his spiel.
This is doable solo using any character (e.g. Hikari) as long as they have the stats and equipment because we're not using any part of Ochette's kit.
