The Desert Sessions is a musical collaboration started by Queens of the Stone Age guitarist and musician Josh Homme, in 1997. The Sessions would end up being declared an ongoing mixtape that lasts 'forever', and currently has 12 volumes as of 2020. Many Southern california desert musicians, and many other musicians outside the desert communities have played and performed on many of the volumes.
This video is a brief history behind the first 2 volumes, how it started, and josh homme's mindset towards the beginnings of a new musical chapter.
