Inspired by Jules Verne’s timeless adventure, Around the World in 80 Days follows Phileas Fogg’s daring wager to circumnavigate the globe in just eighty days. The piece unfolds like a musical travelogue, capturing the urgency of the race alongside moments of wonder, suspense, and triumph.
Rapid rhythmic figures convey a sense of constant motion and ticking time, while sweeping, expressive melodies paint the vast landscapes and diverse cultures encountered on Fogg’s journey. Dramatic contrasts between tension and lyricism mirror the obstacles he faces, building toward a bold and exhilarating conclusion that celebrates determination, adventure, and the spirit of exploration.
