When you hear Emi Sunshine perform it makes you think there might be something to "reincarnation" .... that little girl is 50 NOT 12! And when you talk to her it is easy to think of her as an adult. She is so witty and thoughtful it is hard to think of her as a child. But that voice! Every now and again you'd think she is channeling Janis Joplin!

This is the second set of a concert in honor of Martinsville, Virginia's Edith Arrington's 80th birthday. Cool story there ... Edith is Emi's number one fan... and her family contacted the band and had them to come to Martinsville to play for her birthday party. Fortunately for us she invited the whole town! This was recorded on March 20th 2016.... The party was supposed to be months earlier but it snowed the week it was originally scheduled.

I interviewed both Emi and her father... and wow what an interview. But I am sorry to say I pulled a bone headed move. I TURNED THE CAMERAS OFF thinking I was turning them on and got bupkis. But it was on the first day of one of the worst cases of the flu I have ever had... so I am just grateful I that didn't screw up the concert.
