Dr. Evans is the founder of Infinity Dental Specialists, an interdisciplinary practice focusing on orofacial development, periodontal, and airway health. What is Custom MARPE?:

A Custom MARPE (Miniscrew-Assisted Rapid Palatal Expander) by Partners Dental Studio is a digitally designed, 3D-printed appliance used to widen the upper jaw in teens and adults. Unlike traditional expanders, which mainly push on teeth, a custom MARPE uses strategically placed miniscrews (TADs) anchored into the bone for more stable skeletal expansion and less dental tipping. Partners Dental Studio creates each device from digital scans and CBCT imaging so it fits the patient’s anatomy precisely, allows ideal screw placement, and can be adapted for different clinical needs (like use without molar bands or alongside aligners). Research shows custom MARPE can match or outperform conventional expanders by achieving more predictable, effective jaw widening with better long-term airway and bite benefits.
