Description: A collision of a CSX locomotive and the driver of a dump truck. The plaintiff argued this intersection was dangerous for many reasons: no lights or crossing guard; overgrown vegetation blocks the view of the tracks until the last minute; the narrow work road; swinging gate posts and an additional lower road give the driver many items to negotiate in addition to the tracks.

Visualizations Produced:
Fearless Eye collected aerial photos of the area as well as site photos to reconstruct the site in 3D. Using photos from the day of the accident, accurate representation of vegetation height and density could be determined. Three-dimensional models of the locomotive and truck were built, and their speeds calculated. Along with data from counsels reconstruction experts, several animation were produced from the driver's view, overhead view and the witness view with and without the overgrown vegetation, showing how the accident could have been avoided if the driver's view of the tracks had been clear.
