I obtained an educational stirling engine.
The Stirling engine was invented by Robert Stirling in 1816.
There is no set value for the torque of a Stirling engine because it varies depending on various factors, including engine design, operating conditions, and load.
Torque can generally be calculated using the following formula:
From the motor data sheet, a 1.5V DC motor with RPM = 6990, W = 0.43, and TORQUE = 0.59 mNm.
Torque
The output torque of the Stirling engine = the torque delivered to the DC motor.
Based on the provided specifications, the torque is 0.59 mNm.
Power Output
The mechanical output of the Stirling engine is converted into electrical output by a generator.
In the given specifications, W = 0.43 represents the electrical output of the generator, or power output.
Therefore, the power output is 0.43 W.
Using the given values, calculate the power output from the torque and RPM.
P(W) = T(N⋅m) × 2π × RPM / 60
P(W) = (0.59 × 10^−3) × 2π × 6990 / 60 = 0.4316 W
The calculated value (approximately 0.4316 W) is very close to the given power output (0.43 W), confirming the consistency of the provided specifications.
