Oh the Black Mamba, Kobe Bryant has always been a nice guy. By nice, I meant nice at competition. Kobe would never take anyone trash talking him but what would happen if someone did trash talk a 22 year old Kobe? You’re about to find out. #NBA

Kobe Bryant is one of the best trash talkers of all time, like seriously, but he isn’t just all talk. If you challenge him, Kobe WILL respond. Doesn’t matter who it is, whether it’s Napolean Complex looking Bow Wow or his own trash talking teammate cause they just soft. Y’all loved that Kyrie trash talking Kobe video and so I had to give y’all another one! Drop a like. It really helps me out. Also, one copy of the 20th anniversary edition of NBA 2K19 from the 50K giveaway is still unclaimed so another subscriber who comments will get it. If we get to 1500 likes, I’ll release a video within the next two days. Also, thanks for all the names for the gaming channel, I appreciate it. And let’s run it.
Even from a young age Kobe was already super competitive. After he won his first championship in 2000 and had shown that he would be a star in the league, his teammates already knew not to mess with Kobe. He was just 22 at the time but they knew that if they did, it would be ugly. Horace Grant even said that there are certain things you don’t say to Kobe. Apparently, one shooting guard named Isaiah Rider nicknamed JR (show picture of JR) oops wrong JR, that’s right who signed with the Lakers in the 2000 offseason didn’t get the memo. He was a guy who had just averaged 19 points the in previous season, was a solid starter, and a dunk champion. But it doesn’t matter who you are, Kobe gonna take it to you.
So JR thinks he’s some hot stuff. Man is this a problem with all JRs in the NBA? To be fair though, up until that point in his career he had averaged 18 a game and he was 29 heading to the Lakers. He’s the first guy to put the ball between his legs in a dunk contest. He definitely wasn’t a scrub. In fact, JR until that point had always been a starter but coming to the Lakers, he had to be a bench player. Kobe was of course the starting shooting guard and so JR kinda had a problem with that. Man this all really sounds familiar. Every practice, JR would trash talk Kobe, telling Kobe to “Get your ass back in the kitchen”. He also said that he was dropping buckets on Kobe and Eddie Jones on the regular before he joined the Lakers and that he could cook them all.
So one practice JR says to Kobe, “Don’t get it twisted. I’m a star too, and I used to give you buckets.” This man really thought he was up with Kobe and so Kobe said “Man, you really think you could take me? Alright, after practice, me and you. One-on-one.”
J.R. replied with, “O.K., I ain’t no punk. Let’s go.”
It was a game to 10. All ones. And Kobe absolutely destroyed JR. He gave him every move in the book, up and under, fadeaway, dunking, whatever would beat JR. All that trash talk JR was speaking, all of that just got washed away. The only clips of that day are these two clips that I showed in the beginning. The beatdown was so bad that Kobe’s teammates told him to stop it. Just imagine, it was so bad that everyone felt pity for JR, like damn Kobe you really a snake! They were legit waving towels. By the end of the game, JR was saying No Mas, No mas, which means no more, no more. In my head, I just see this. (The office meme) Kobe made another NBA player beg for mercy, like I’m speechless.
Isaiah JR Rider would go from being the 6th man to being the last player on the bench to being cut from the playoff roster. JR would sign with the Denver Nuggets the next season and be waived 10 games into the season and that was his career. Just think about it, a man went from averaging 19 a game to out of the league in 2 seasons and lot of that was due to JR’s hot headedness and his off the court problems, but man Kobe really handed it to him. I feel like JR was trying to prove himself, but he just lost hope after this. Even JR has said that going to the Lakers were the death of his career. If you wanna see more Kobe stories or trash talk stories, lemme know but what do you think?
