The Gila River has sustained multiple cultures over time. Ranging from the Mimbres in the upper reaches, the Hohokam in the central region of the Gila River, and the Patayan from Gila Bend Arizona to Yuma.
This site is in the Great Bend of the Gila River where two desert cultures met, a region known as the Hohokam-Patayan interface.
At this site we found geoglyphs and rock alignments. We visited three main geoglyph sites, a minor U-shaped site, and we also came across multiple rock alignments which we did not photograph.
