The Heat Equation 1: Introduction to Partial Differential Equations

Описание: We consider the simplest partial differential equation: the heat equation for a one-dimensional object. Discovered by the Frenchman Joseph Fourier during the turbulent time of Napoleon, the method of separation of variables leads us to the Fourier Series Solution, named in his honor.

Fourier would have envied our access to computers for this computationally intense technique, which requires the evaluation of some annoying integrals.
