The Monster term in Hajime no Ippo is used to describe a boxer who has gone beyond mental limitations and is ready to give up part of their humanity in order to survive in the world of boxing. He doesn't care how many times he loses or what stands in his way—he will overcome it with all his strength in order to win, no matter the cost.
Being a monster doesn’t necessarily mean being the strongest, having the best strategy, or always coming out as the winner of a fight. For a monster, there is no future or past—no weakness, handicap, fear, or any form of logic. For him, only the moment matters, and he fights solely to elevate himself to new heights.
That’s why, in this video, I’ll show every Ippo character who managed to reach that level—and their monster version.
