Josef Herman 'JOE BACH'

Описание: This is a film about the artist Josef Herman's time in Ystradgynlais from 1944-55, based in a script written by Sonia Beck (Lighthouse Theatre) drawing on the journals of Josef Herman and starring Adrian Metcalfe (Lighthouse Theatre). It is a walking tour of Ystradgynlais built around the town of the 1950s when it was home to the Polish immigrant artist, Josef Herman- 'Joe Bach', the artist took inspiration from the landscape, the community and the coal miners.
Performed in May 2013 and May 2014 the show consists of an encounter on the streets of the town with the artist himself who then takes the audience to visit his favourite places before returning to the Welfare Hall for an art lesson.

This film was commissioned and funded by the City & County of Swansea Council Arts in Education Team and the Josef Herman Art Foundation Cymru as part of the 'Mining Josef Herman' project.

'Mining Josef Herman' was a two-year partnership project (2013-2015) between the Josef Herman Art Foundation Cymru and Tate. It formed part of a larger project called 'Transforming Tate Britain: Archives and Access', which was supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council of Wales.

Yn y ffilm ceir taith gerdded o amgylch tref Ystradgynlais yn y 1950au pan oedd yn gartref i'r arlunydd mewnfudwyr o Wlad Pwyl, Josef Herman-'Joe Bach', cafodd Herman ysbrydoliaeth o'r dirwedd, y gymuned a glowyr yr ardal.
Perfformiwyd y ffilm ym mis Mai 2013 a mis Mai 2014 a rydym yn cwrdd ar artist (Metcalfe) ar strydoedd y dref mae'n mynd â ni i ymweld â'i hoff lefydd cyn mynd i'r Neuadd Les am wers gelf.

Mae'r ffilm hon wedi'i chomisiynu a'i hariannu gan Dîm Celfyddydau mewn Addysg Cyngor Dinas a Sir Abertawe a Sefydliad Celf Josef Herman Cymru fel rhan o'r prosiect 'Mining Josef Herman'.

Roedd prosiect 'Mining Josef Herman' yn bartneriaeth dwy flynedd (2013-2015) rhwng Sefydliad Celf Josef Herman Cymru a Tate. roedd yn rhan o brosiect mwy o'r enw 'Transforming Tate Britain: Archives and Access', a gefnogir gan Gronfa Dreftadaeth y Loteri a derbyniodd Sefydliad Celf Josef Herman gyllid hefyd gan Gyngor Celfyddydau Cymru.
