A surprisingly simple, yet effective technique. This move or variations of it appears in most combat martial arts. In Karate it appears in the katas Heian Godan, Kwanku dai, Bassai dai, Jutte, Gankaku and Jion among others. In Kung fu it is often called "Monkey steals the peach". The reason that it is in so many martial arts is because it works. In most sports events this move is banned because it would mean short fights, which is what we want in self defence.
Notes on technique.
1) Do the slap so hard it doesn't matter if you don't grab anything.
2) Finish the technique by sticking both of your thumbs in their eyes.
