It had been 15 months since we were in Israel. The Israel we returned to had endured so much. A pandemic, a war, and so much more. The feeling of being back was a complicated one: hopeful yet heavy.
So, we listened. We heard the stories of people on both sides of the recent conflict, people who long for peace and are willing to do the hard work of rebuilding trust with their neighbors. We heard the stories of people whose livelihoods have been affected, whose families have been endangered, and marveled at their resilience.
This is the story of our first trip back on the ground. And these are the stories of the people we met, people who we admire and stand with in their own struggles and hopes.
