Simple project for the most classic cutting tool for both mill and lathe: the Fly Cutter.
First of all it was not built starting from a full piece as the "manual" would recommand.
I added a small change that allows you to have a balanced fly cutter, which is useful for who have not a machine anchored to a base such as my lathe.
The possibilty to balance the fly cutter avoid to transfer useless vibrations to the machine.
The ballast is represented by a simple round piece of steel, at the center of it I pressed a self-locking nut M6. I had some doubts about its rotating stability but after few time it seems to be really effective.
Its use on the Ceriani lathe is a little limited, but I always hope to use it on a small bench mill in the future.
Excuse me for the music,! I enjoyed it a bit :-)
