Five is a relatively new brand to us here at STG. When we brought these on, we included their two top gauntlet gloves into our STG gauntlet glove shootout. The RFX1 is modeled after their flagship full gauntlet the RFX race glove. Jimmy and I both rode in all the gloves that were used in the shootout and this was another standout for us. They are comfortable right out of the box. We were impressed with the fit, impressed with the feel. When you break this thing down and review all of the protection features, it has what it takes to be a good gauntlet glove that’s ready for racing track days or street duty. Right out of the box, the gloves fit and felt as I expected. Requiring very little break-in to be race ready. The RFX1 gloves offer cowhide on the back of the hand, goat skin. A little higher dexterity, a little more feel with the goat skin, great leather for sure. It also features stretch fabric that is Kevlar reinforced to enhance tear resistance and of course abrasion resistance. The two outer fingers are stitched together and they’ve done that with a little accordion panel that increases the amount of mobility that you get.

It offers all the features of a top-of-the-line glove geared towards performance. Kevlar® lining, carbon reinforcements and full grain leather for protection, Stretch Kevlar™ for comfort, a protective barrier for both the palm and the top of the hand, while providing an exceptionally lightweight fit. It also features new Stretch Kevlar and leather construction (instead of all-leather) on the thumb, for improved comfort. The palm features reinforcement in Digital Pittards® English leather for optimal grip in wet conditions. The Velcro adjusting strap is concealed beneath a protective leather flap to reduce the risk of the glove being torn off in the event of a fall.
