What We Carry is a poetry reading series honoring the words and experiences of those shaped by military service.
“Seasons of Life” is a poem submitted by Penny Lee Deere, a retired Army Senior Noncommissioned Officer who served from 1975 to 1995, including service during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Shared with permission, this poem reflects on time, change, endurance, and the lived seasons that shape a life of service.
This poem is presented without commentary, allowing the words to stand on their own.
