The Elvia-C, a collaboration between Turner CNC and Ed Calderon (Ed's Manifesto) is a fruit knife style knife, with its curved paring blade set at an outward angle. But this is no ordinary fruit knife, from the diamond checkered G-10 handle to the 3V blade and multi-position, modular kydex sheath. But also, the Elvia-C is optimized for a pikal grip (edge-in, tip-down) which some find the most useful and practical grip for the gross-motor functions one is reduced to when in a high-stress situation, like a close quarter struggle for your life with an adversary bent on your destruction. I cannot say for sure, but it seems guys like Ed Calderon are pretty good authorities on the subject.
