Casa TM, designed by CDM, is a contemporary residence that explores the relationship between architecture, climate, and landscape. Located in Mexico, the project reflects a design approach deeply rooted in its environment, where spatial openness and natural materials create a strong connection between the home and its tropical surroundings. The house is conceived as a sequence of indoor and outdoor spaces that allow light, air, and vegetation to become integral elements of everyday living.

The architecture is organized around a series of courtyards that structure the flow of the house. These open spaces provide natural ventilation while introducing greenery and filtered daylight into the interior rooms. Large sliding doors and expansive glazing blur the boundary between interior and exterior areas, allowing living spaces to extend seamlessly toward terraces and gardens. This approach not only enhances spatial fluidity but also responds thoughtfully to the region’s warm climate.

Materiality plays a defining role in shaping the identity of Casa TM. Concrete, natural stone, and timber surfaces combine to produce a tactile and grounded architectural language. The rough textures of stone contrast with the smooth planes of concrete, while warm wooden details soften the overall composition. Together, these materials create a balanced atmosphere that feels both contemporary and deeply connected to its natural setting.

Through its careful spatial organization and restrained design language, Casa TM demonstrates how modern residential architecture can adapt to climate and landscape while maintaining a strong architectural presence. CDM’s design emphasizes simplicity, natural light, and the seamless integration of interior and exterior spaces, resulting in a home that feels calm, open, and intimately connected to its environment.
