Shortly after the attack on TMC leader Khairul Islam, MLA Saokat Molla was targeted in a life-threatening ambush. The incident took place while the MLA was returning from Polerhat Police Station after filing a complaint. Miscreants allegedly hurled bombs and opened fire at his vehicle; while Saokat Molla escaped unhurt, his convoy's trailing vehicle was damaged. Police have recovered two live bombs from the spot and have already arrested two suspects. Saokat Molla has pointed fingers at ISF-backed goons for this pre-planned attack ahead of the 2026 Assembly Elections.
