Princes Street Station, also known as the 'Caley,' was a significant railway terminus in Edinburgh, Scotland, operating from 1870 until its closure in 1965. Situated at the west end of Princes Street, it served as a key hub for the Caledonian Railway, facilitating travel between Edinburgh and various destinations across the UK. The station was renowned for its architectural grandeur and bustling activity, playing a pivotal role in the city's transportation network. However, with the rationalization of railway services and the proximity of Waverley Station, Princes Street Station was deemed surplus to requirements and subsequently closed. The majority of the station was demolished in the late 1960s, with only the hotel, now known as the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh - The Caledonian, remaining as a testament to its historical significance.
