PECs System DIY for Non-Verbal Autism // Let’s make Picture Exchange Cards for my Autistic Toddler!!

Описание: If you've been around this ol' corner of the webs for a while, you'll be familiar with my middle boy. Jokingly, he's the strong silent type.. only not much about him is "silent."
Our sweet boy has level 3 ASD and recently underwent a total corpus callosotomy (brain surgery) for atonic seizures. In the last two-ish months, he has made some BIG little steps towards improved communication. Even though we are still non-verbal/non-speaking, we are pointing and making more sounds and noises than ever before (even when he was babbling before the onset of seizures!!!). To say my husband and I are excited, is a massive understatement. We still have a LONG ROAD ahead of us, and we're keeping our expectations realistic: Feliks may never speak the way you or I do, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have something to say.
These DIY Picture Exchange Cards are hopefully going to be a step towards better communication with our bouncy boy. I'm hoping it opens the door to learning to use words, but more realistically, to using a device to communicate.
