I climbed Kyajo Ri in 2017 with my two guides (Chhewang Palden Sherpa and Nima Thundu Sherpa) between May 21-24. Kyajo Ri is a technical peak in the Everest region that is usually climbed over several days using 3 different camps.
We had good weather for the climb. The summit approach was not covered in the deadly blue ice that had prevented several other groups from summiting earlier in the season. With that said, crevasses were a big issue on many peaks in the Everest region that year including on Kyajo Ri.
This footage is almost entirely unedited. I periodically turned on my GO Pro (Hero 6 Black) for several minutes at a time, before turning it off to save battery/memory space. What you're seeing is those clips strung together with no stabilization, editing (beyond a few captions), smooth transitions or music. You will also hear a lot of sniffs, coughs, breathing etc etc. Also, get ready for long silences and stretches where it's just quiet trekking and/or climbing. So definitely don't go into this video expected a highly polished or glamorized portrayal of climbing in the Himalayas.
That said, if you want to get a pretty good feel of what it's like to climb a 6k peak in the Everest region, hopefully this video gives you a solid chance to do that.
