I went on a 4 hour food tour in Ho Chi Minh City and somehow ended up trying 13 different Vietnamese dishes in one night.
We started strong with banh xeo and pho, worked our way through banh mi and sweet banh bao, and yes… I even tried stuffed snails. At one point I had to unbutton my pants and just commit to the experience.
Vietnamese street food is no joke. Everything is cooked right in front of you, the flavors are bold, and every stop felt completely different from the last. Some things surprised me, some things pushed me a little out of my comfort zone, but nothing disappointed.
From smoky grilled meats wrapped in betel leaf to crispy rice crackers, sweet corn pudding, and coffee flan to end the night… I left very full and very happy.
