This is one of two 'Miniaturen für Kinder' by the German composer Wilfried Hiller (b.1941) who specialised in music for children and families, especially stage works: community music, if you like. It was published in Schott's 'New Piano Pieces for Children' (1986) alongside music by a whole range of European composers.
It is the companion piece to 'Schmetterlingswalzer' (Butterfly Waltz) which I recorded some time ago. It has a sly humour which I wouldn't naturally associate with German composers. There is no tempo indication and I have chosen a much brisger tempo than the title might lead one to expect (but I think it works better musically at this speed).
